Holiday Trail of Lights
Take a festive drive through Brownsville, Stanton and Haywood County and experience the magic of the season! This trail features homes and businesses that go all out with dazzling outdoor lights and holiday displays. The journey is scattered throughout the community and anchored by Markowski Christmas Lights, a spectacular drive-thru display featuring over 1 million lights. A must-see holiday tradition!
Stanton Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting
Celebrate the season in downtown Stanton! Join the residents of the Town of Stanton as they officially welcome the start of the holiday season.
12 Noon - Kick Off
Festivities kick off at noon with food, vendors, entertainment, and more.
2 PM - Christmas Parade
Parade lineup begins at 1 pm, followed by the parade at 2 pm. This year’s theme, “A Winter Wonderland,” promises holiday magic for the whole family.
3-6 PM - Ford Community Center Holiday Celebration
Following the Parade, join us at The Cannery for an afternoon of holiday cheer. Enjoy a warm meal, music, family-friendly fun and the Stanton Tree Lighting at dusk.
5 PM - 1st Annual Christmas Tree Lighting
Gather with friends and family to celebrate the season and the official lighting of Stanton’s first-ever Christmas tree. A joyful way to embrace the season!
Christmas Shop & Stroll
Downtown Brownsville continues to spread holiday cheer during a special Christmas event on Thursday, December 18, from 5-7 pm. The celebration, “Brownsville Christmas Shop & Stroll,” invites families and shoppers to enjoy extended store hours, festive activities and a lively holiday atmosphere.
The event features an opportunity for children to share their wish lists and talk with Santa, a Grinch roaming around downtown, holiday photo opportunities at the community Christmas tree and fun window displays, live music featuring local talents and special promotions from participating businesses. A “Holiday Passport” encourages visitors to shop at multiple locations for a chance to win a gift basket filled with local treats and gifts.

Summer Jamz Music Fest
Some great events are planned for this year's Summer Jamz! A Block Party Friday night with DJ Cotton and the Brownsville Haywood County Chamber of Commerce; then Birding and the Blues with a fun guided excursion on the Hatchie refuge followed by the launch of the new 'Guide to Birding in Tennessee' and Hot Summer Blues, vendors, food trucks and lots more at the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center.
West TN Classic Loop Ride
The ride benefits Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. Le Bonheur will have their Children’s Bike Safety and Injury Prevention Team on site handling out helmets and safety info to kids attending the event.
Come ride on routes curated by BikeTN. Download RideGPS and have turn-by-turn directions sent to your GPS device. Our course will be marked with signs and arrows on the asphalt. Two distances 25 and 50 miles. Riders who do the 50 milers will ride through Nutbush, the birthplace of Tina Turner.

Exit 56 Blues Fest
Exit 56 Blues Fest celebrates the legacy of Brownsville bluesmen Sleepy John Estes, Hammie Nixon and Yank Rachell. The music festival takes place on the grounds of the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center in Brownsville TN each Memorial Day weekend.
Earth Day
Come spend Earth Day around the Brownsville square, with walking, running, food trucks, bouncy houses, area vendors, and our great square shops and restaurants. The Black Farm Experience Exhibition
The West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center’s newest exhibition, "The Black Farm Experience" is now open and explores the rich history of Black farmers in the region, highlighting their significant contributions and accomplishments.
The journey of African American farmers from the era of slavery through sharecropping and into land ownership showcases the immense challenges they faced and their enduring connection to the land. This exhibit aims to portray those trials, truths, and triumphs of Black individuals in the agriculture industry. Despite facing discrimination and unfair practices, many Black farmers have persevered, driven by their deep love and connection to the land.

TN Songwriters Week Qualifying Round
The West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center will host a qualifying round Saturday, February 1 for Tennessee Songwriters Week competition. Two songwriters will be selected to advance to semi-finals at Lafayette’s Music Room February 25, with hopes of winning a chance to perform at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville in March.
SIGN UPS BEGIN DEC. 12: Sign up HERE! 20 Slots are available on a first come, first serve basis for any songwriter, all genres. The qualifying round will open Dec. 12 and remain open until all 20 slots are filled.
Stanton Christmas Parade
The annual Stanton Christmas Parade is another beloved tradition in Haywood County TN. Watch as colorful floats and Santa Claus himself parade through the streets of Stanton, spreading holiday cheer. Line up begins at 1 pm and parade begins at 2 pm.
Caroling on Jefferson
Holiday music fills the air at the Amphitheater just off the Brownsville Court Square where children and choirs will share classic carols and favorite holiday tunes. You are invited to sing along and embrace the spirit of the season. Presented by the Historic Jefferson Street Association.
Holiday Trail of Lights
Using Markowski Lights as your anchor, you are invited to follow the Trail of Lights across the city and county to enjoy lighted outdoor displays, decorated windows and storefronts and more. Make stops at Santa’s Workshop and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant as part of your evening. What better way to celebrate the season than a drive with family and friends. Take your time and enjoy. Santa's Workshop
Santa visits Brownsville at his workshop location on the historic court square where kids can write letters, take photos and delight in the festive atmosphere. The workshop is courtesy of Adam and Heather Smith, a local family who loves Christmas and wants to share the holidays with the area’s children. The use of “The Twenty” building is courtesy of Chris Morey of Ferocious Graphix. Live music and food are available next door at Mr. Jimmy’s Farmers Market on Nov. 30 and December 7.
Markowski Christmas Lights

This spectacular display, in its 20th year, has become a beloved holiday tradition and the anchor site for Brownsville’s Holiday Trail of Lights.
