Hatchie River

As the only unchanneled section of the Mississippi tributary left - the Hatchie River Basin provides an unrivaled opportunity to see the wilds of the delta region in its glory - from watching migration patterns of the Mississippi Flyway during the Hatchie Birdfest to wandering the cypress groves of the back trails. This amazing river experience and Hatchie National Wildlife Refuge is hard to beat.

Trail Map

5+ miles of natural dirt trails with levels for all skill sets and trail names and features highlighting regional music greats like Tina Turner and Sleepy John Estes. Try your riding skills on Yank’s Mandolin or bravely cross Hammie’s Harmonica. The scenic trails are along Sugar Creek, a stream of the Hatchie River.

Dunbar Carver Museum

The Dunbar Carver Museum and Cultural Center is the only museum of its kind in West Tennessee. The museum is committed to telling the story of the areas African-American experience. Dunbar Carver High School was originally opened in 1922 as an African American school during the segregation period. It closed in 1970 and was re-opened as a museum in 2007. Exhibits describe rural life, school history and distinguished alumni from the community.

Billy Tripp’s Mindfield

Touted as the tallest freestanding sculpture in Tennessee - Billy Tripp’s Mindfield is a maze of found metal accumulated over the course of 30+ years. The sculpture continues to grow year by year as Billy adds more pieces to the work. The sculpture details Tripp’s life story and will act as a cemetery upon its completion.

Our Queen of the Pit is one of the few women pitmasters in the South. Come and taste what she's got cooking!

Delta Heritage Center

An authentic Southern experience awaits at the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center. The Center holds several collections under one-roof where you can explore the cotton industry, the Hatchie River region, along with the impressive music heritage of the region - including the Tina Turner Museum housed inside her one-room school house, Flagg Grove School, and the last home of Blues pioneer “Sleepy” John Estes. The Center is a regular host of musicians from across the region including the site of the annual Exit 56 Blues Fest and a venue for the community to gather.
